What Women Like About the Different types of Condoms

Nowadays, you can find condoms in just about every size, colour, and flavour that you can imagine. There are small ones, skinny ones, neon green ones, even glow in the dark ones. Believe it or not there used to be a time in when there was only one kind of condom out in the market, and as far as the texture is concerned. This has changed in monumental fashion. Nowadays, condoms come in latex and ribbed, some just on the exterior but some are studded both inside and outside. Presumably, this is also to provide the user with added enjoyment.

How many different kinds of condoms are there? Is there really any real differences? Well basically all condoms fall into one of eight categories in general, based on the primary consideration. First is th! e material; condoms are either made from polyurethane or latex. Second is size this involves the width of the condom not the length (most condoms available in convenience stores are standard sized). Third is the type of lubricant used, different substances are used by the different brands. Fourth is the spermicidal. Spermicidal lubricant is sometimes used to further reduce the risk of pregnancy.

One of the more common is called nonoxynol-9. Some people are sensitive to this and if used for a long time, can increase the risk of HIV infection. Fifth is the Ribbing. There are many people out there, who complain about not being able to feel a thing. The ribbed condoms are a heaven-sent condom for them. The ridges make sex more "feel-able" for the couple. Next is colour, this is fairly self explanatory. Seventh would be flavour, these add some excitement to oral sex. Eighth and the last, is the reservoir tip. Most condoms have this reservoir-like end opposed to the few others which have plain tips. For the reservoir type,! it is important to pinch the tip before rolling it on. This i! s more or less mandatory because if air gets in, it could course the condom to rupture while you are getting busy and you wouldn’t want that to happen. Actually, there is a ninth type, but since our topic is men’s condoms, a simple mention of it would suffice. That is the female condom

Now that we are through enumerating them, let us go to the more important part which is to answer the question "what are the qualities of a good condom?" In terms of material, latex is probably the best; avoid the naturally made ones (lamb membrane for example). Some unenlightened souls claim that a few viruses can go thru latex that is absolutely untrue. Those made from natural materials are porous and so there is a probability of virus-transmission. Another would be the presence of lubricants. Picking the water-based ones is best like those that are pre-lubricated with spermicidal gel or foam. Petroleum, baby oil or cream used as lubricant is risky. These types have the tendency to weaken condoms, even latex. Packaging is also an invitation. (Not only vis-à-vis colors although to some people, color is paramount, they are probably the reason why the glow-in-the dark type was born.)

But more importantly, what do women want in a condom? Some condoms are packaged in such a way as t! o look like tampon containers and some women find this appealing. Form is also important – to illustrate, French ticklers have a popular appeal as these increase pleasure during intercourse. It is for this reason that some women insist that their lovers buy ultra thin condoms. Of course, not all nationalities are alike. In Japan women in fact, prefer using condoms over taking the pill but they don’t really care about what type of condom to be used. Because as long as she is assured that it won’t break, she doesn’t really care on what type of condom is being used. If you are a visitor to Japan though, a piece of advice: bring your own condoms as the size being manufactured there might not be to your liking.

And finally but in fact most interesting though, according to an expert on t! he topic – women generally, do not care about the ridges, ribbing or the lubrication, "The thing is that condoms are designed by men", She asserts that if women were to be the ones to do this designing, they would make "padded" condoms. Length may not really be crucial, but according to her, width is and that is where the padding comes in.
