Poker is slowly turning into a favorite past time among many people today. You will see so many filled up poker tables at Casinos, make shift poker games being played at home and so many online games devoted to poker. People are quickly getting addicted to this card game and are creating their own poker strategy to win or have an advantage over the others. There are many poker strategies out there. Depending on the place, the competition and the game of poker being played, every player has created something that will work for them.

The first thing you should know is that there are a few different poker games out there. You have Texas Hold Em, Omaha, Horse and so many more. No one really knows how many different poker games exist all throughout the world but we all know that a bunch of people enjoy playing it. Like sports, the best way to wrap your head around the game is by practicing and playing with friends. You can also start learning the game by playing on different websites or on social networking sites. You have to keep in mind that poker is a card games based on some skills, a bit of strategy and a lot of luck. Before you dive in though, you have to understand the betting and the playing.

An example of poker is Hold em. This kind of poker will be played in a clockwise manner having the player on the left of the dealer play first. Playing poker involves you having 2 cards in your hands at all times. The dealer will lay down 5 more cards on the table and you will need to come up with any 5 card combination. The highest card in the deck is the Ace but it can also play the lowest card when creating a straight. The best 5 card combination wins the pot. You can also win the pot if you’re great at bluffing. Having a bad hand and still staying in the game is risky but it works. You have to come up with your own strategy as the game progresses and as you get to know your competitors more. Your strategy should change at every game so that you will not become predictable to play with.

Horse poker is usually played at big tournaments where the 5 games are played one after the other. The games can be changed after every round or after every hour of playing poker for fun. This depends on the tournaments mechanics or what has been agreed upon by the poker players. Every time there is a game change, the dealer will announce the next game to everybody. This is so that none of the players gets mixed up and not understanding or knowing what game to they are playing.

In order to excel in horse poker, one has to master the 5 different types of poker first. Being good at only one type of poker game will not benefit the player. You have to be well rounded and very knowledgeable about all games in poker before joining any kind of horse tournament. This may be the most challenging game that poker can offer. Switching between games may be confusing for beginners but most experienced poker player’s transition between games with ease.
